Req. Sunspear Point Quests. - Guild Wars Forums

I am at one point in Elona where I have to get 2500 Sunspear points for a Primary quest? I only have 1000. It is going to take some time and I was just wondering if I have to do it. If I do not do it can I still go through the storyline?

Nightfall is setup so that you need to complete each primary quest and mission to gain access to the next in the storyline. If you run to a mission later in the game, Gate of Desolation is the furthest you can go, and try to join a mission with someone, it will tell them you do not have access to it and prevent the party from moving foward.

Same goes for the Wurms in the Desolation. You can go out into Sulfurous Wastes with someone who has completed the mission and tamed the wurms, but they will not be able to use them until you have done so.

So yes, you have to do it.

Local characters in Nightfall are required to have the rank of Sunspear General (2,500 Sunspear Promotion Points) at a certain portion of the game in order to progress. If you venture outside and encounter a scout or priest at a resurrection shrine, speak with them. You can receive a bounty for various creatures from which you will receive promotion points for destroying. The bounties end once you reach the rank of Sunspear Castellan.

Taking the bounties offered in each area makes getting 2500 very easy.

You have to do it. And yeah, it can be rather annoying (especially if you've already finished Nightfall once).
